This is a fascinating trip, taking you from the North East of the Dolomites, in an area of exceptional natural beauty, the bike path takes you through the Pusterial Valley to Bruneck and then on to the bishop's town of Brixen. From here you cycle to the capital town of South Tyrol, Bozenn to visit the oldest Tyroleann the Ice Man. From there you will progress to Lake Garda, the largest and most charming lake in Italy, located half-way between Venice and Milan.
You will discover the South Tyrol, where the majority of the population speak an Austro-Bavarian dialect of German and consider themselves ethnically Tyrolean.

Program
Day 1 Arrival and installation at your hotel
Arrive at your hotel and settle in. A private car park is available for the duration of your holiday. Briefing and handing-over of your route notes and other information will take place at 1800 hours.

Night in Alta Pusteria (Toblach, Niederdorf or Welsberg)

Day 2 Alta Pusteria - Brixen/Bressanone
Today, you will cross the splendid Prags valley, famous for its black woods, its white cliffs and its turquoise waters. Past the dam of Olang, by following Rienz River you reach the town of Bruneck home to the well-known church altar constructor Michael Pacher.
You cycle through the lower Pusteria Valley, past the ruin of Mühlbacher Klause and into the Eisack Valley. Just shortly before reaching Brixen, you can visit the Neustift Monetary. The old town centre of Briwen is well worth visiting with its arcades, ally's and Cathedral.

Day 3 Bruneck/Brunico - Brixen/Bessanone
You cycle through the lower Pusteria Valley, past the ruin of Mühlbacher Klause and into the Eisack Valley. Just shortly, before reaching Brixen, you can visit the Neustift Monastery. The old town centre of Brixen is well worth visiting with its arcades, ally's and Cathedral.

Day 4 Meran/ Merano - Bozen/Bolzano
Transfer by train from Bolzano to the spa town Merano with its Mediterranean flair. From Meran, you cycle through the orchards along the Etsch Valley to Bozen. Here you can wander through the arcades, visit the fruit market or just enjoy the flair of a town immersed in two cultures.

Day 5 Bozen/Bolzano - Trento
From Bozen there are two ways to get to Salurn. Either along the old railway track to Überetsch and then on further to Kaltern and Lake Kaltern, or through the wide Etsch Valley along the bike path.

At Salurn you leave the German speaking province of South Tyrol and enter the famous Trento wine growing region and the Diocese town of Trento.

Possibility to shorten the tour by train (not included)

Day 6 Trento - Riva/Lake Garda
After having passed through the frontier city of the old Tyrol, Rovereto, you will leave the valley of Adige and start climbing until you reach col San Giovanni (387m), after which you will discover Lake Garda.

After breakfast. Options for returning to your car or leaving Italy from here by other means of transport can be discussed with us.
